Each Dookie Houser™ is beautiful, handmade, durable, washable and made in the USA. We use a completely green, renewable finish that is soy-based, non-toxic and penetrates the wood to provide a deeper bond, deeper protection and better wear resistance without toxicity or odor. The soy based finish fills the pores and provides maximum resistance against moisture, mold, mildew, staining and creates a very durable finish. To clean your Dookie Houser™, use warm water and a mild detergent, ring the rag out well and just wipe down the inside and outside. Do not dip the house in water. Just wipe it down once a week when you wash your pet's bedding. Avoid using chemicals to clean the surface.
