We are dedicated to helping ferrets, small pets and the people who love them.

Hammocks are great but don't provide any privacy for your ferret. Hanging enclosures are cute but don't provide enough ventilation. Dookie Housers provide privacy and plenty of ventilation. Dookie Houser Burrows are made from wood using non-toxic materials and then sealed with a non-toxic soy-based sealer making the burrow completely washable and very durable.

We love all animals, but we have a special place in our hearts for ferrets. Over the years we have had 4 ferrets: "Taz" was the first, followed by the "Hole in the Wall Gang" consisting of "Jesse James", "Butch Cassidy", and our albino "Sundance". The Gang's desire for a burrow was clear to us as their digging instincts had taken quite a toll on the carpet and furniture around the house. After weeks of fruitless searching for a burrow-like home for them, it was clear we weren't going to find anything. In the end, we decided to just roll up our shirt sleeves and build them a home from scratch. When we were finished, lo and behold, they loved it! That first humble, rough-hewn burrow planted the seed for what would eventually evolve into the burrows you find on our site today.

Ferrets are the third most popular pet and probably the most misunderstood by the people who buy them.  Ferrets are loving, sweet, gentle little tubes of fur if the owner(s) learn about ferrets and their care before they purchase one.  Ferrets require love, love, love and patience, patience, patience and they will repay you with hours of entertainment, joy, laughter and love.  Before purchasing a ferret, please take the time to understand them and their needs.  Do your research.  Ferrets are basically like a 2 year old child their entire lives.  Just love them, that's all they really want.  If they bite, they are scared.  Reassure them with love and kindness.  They need lots of time being held and cuddled by their owners.  The more time you spend with your ferret(s), the more rewards you will reap from their company.  Joyful little souls that they are!!

From that first humble, rough-hewn burrow, combined with our love and passion for all animals and especially our love of ferrets, we now build functional, funky, fun hideaways for your ferrets and small pets too!
